JetZip is a browser-native toolkit. When you unzip, compress, encrypt, or split/merge archives, processing happens with JavaScript libraries running on your device—not on a JetZip upload server. You drop files into the page, the browser does the work, and you download the result locally. For sharing, Transfer creates a unique link and opens a WebRTC data channel so the receiver pulls bytes straight from the sender’s browser while that tab stays open. Remote ZIP uses HTTP Range requests from your browser to a remote host so you can extract one entry from a huge archive without downloading the entire ZIP to JetZip—or often even to disk in full.

How JetZip keeps files private
JetZip is more than a thin utility page. Below is how the product works, why there is no JetZip file cloud, and how WebRTC peer-to-peer transfer stretches past traditional upload limits.
“Zero server” for JetZip means we refuse to become a cloud locker for your private files. There is no JetZip account vault and no mandatory upload pipeline that stores your archives for later retrieval. That design reduces breach surface area, avoids retention of sensitive contents, and removes transfer quotas tied to our storage bill. Signaling or static hosting may still exist to deliver the website and help peers find each other, but your ZIP bytes and P2P payloads are not warehoused as JetZip user data. Serverless-by-design is a privacy choice: if we never hold the file, we cannot sell, mine, or leak its contents from a JetZip content database.
Classic “upload to the cloud, then download” sharing forces every byte through a middleman—and usually through size caps, waiting rooms, and accounts. JetZip Transfer uses WebRTC so devices exchange data peer-to-peer over an encrypted channel. Because JetZip is not ingesting the file into object storage, we do not impose JetZip-side file-size quotas on the payload itself. Practical limits become those of your browsers, memory, and network path (NAT, firewalls, relay fallbacks)—not an artificial free-tier ceiling on our disk. Keep the sender tab open until the transfer finishes; the peer tunnel is live only while both sides can stay connected. That is how JetZip aims for anonymous, unlimited-feeling sharing without turning into another upload silo.
